Jeremy P. Caulfield
The last few years have been extremely busy for Jeremy P. Caulfield. Not only has his Dumb Unit label seen massive growth internationally, his own productions and performances have had a considerable impact on the global techno and minimal scene. A consummate producer, DJ and Live act Jeremy has toured the world extensively with a distinct, rough and edgy sound. Over the last four years, Jeremy has released 3 mix CDs, recorded numerous classic records for labels such as TRAPEZ, WMF and Dumb-Unit and remixed an impressive roster of artists. He currently holds a residency together with Vakant @ Berlin’s famed Watergate club. Of course he still makes time to drop by his hometown of Toronto, where he always delivers off the hook performances at the renowned Fukhouse nights. Over the last 6 years Jeremy’s label DUMB-UNIT has grown into one of the most respected, consistent and recognized of Canadian labels, with over 40 vinyl releases, 3 CDs and has awakened the world to a continuously evolving roster of talented artists. Butane, Sweet’n Candy, Lee Crtutiss, Seph and Jorge Savoretti & Jake Fairley to name a few. Making the Move to Berlin in 2003, Jeremy remains happily a bit of an outsider, developing a sound that is neither characteristically minimal nor predictable techno. His live & Dj sets are the demonstration of this melding and always rock straight even through twisted minimal experiments.
